Importing Calendars

Where to add calendar, paste URL, per property, status and errors.

Importing a calendar means HostManageGo fetches events from an external iCal URL (e.g. from Airbnb or Booking.com) and blocks those dates on your property calendar. This article explains where to add the calendar and how to check status and errors.

Where to Add a Calendar

  1. Go to Settings and open Calendar Sync (or iCal / Calendars).
  2. Find the section for Import or External calendars (or similar).
  3. Click Add calendar (or Add iCal).

You may be asked to choose the property this calendar belongs to. Each imported calendar is linked to one property so the system knows which property’s dates to block.

Paste the URL

  1. Get the iCal URL from the other platform:
    • Airbnb – Go to your listing → Calendar → Availability settings → Sync calendars → Export calendar. Copy the export (iCal) URL.
    • Booking.com – Go to your property → Calendar → Sync calendar. Copy the export URL they provide.
    • Other platforms usually have a "Calendar sync", "Export calendar", or "iCal" section where you can copy a URL.
  2. Paste the URL into the HostManageGo form (field like "Calendar URL" or "iCal URL").
  3. Optionally give the calendar a name (e.g. "Airbnb – Porto apartment") so you can recognize it in the list.
  4. Click Save (or Add).

HostManageGo will fetch the URL and import the events. The first sync may take a short time. After that, the system syncs periodically (or when you trigger a manual sync) so new bookings on the other platform appear as blocked dates in HostManageGo.

Per Property

You can add more than one calendar per property (e.g. one for Airbnb, one for Booking.com for the same property). All imported events are merged: if either calendar has a booking on a date, that date is blocked in HostManageGo. See Merge Behavior.

You can also add calendars for different properties: each calendar is linked to one property, so add one calendar per property per platform (e.g. "Airbnb – Porto apartment", "Airbnb – Lisbon house").

Status and Errors

In the calendar list you typically see:

  • Status – e.g. Active, OK, Error. "Active" or "OK" means the last sync succeeded. "Error" means something went wrong (e.g. invalid URL, network error).
  • Last synced – When the calendar was last fetched.
  • Error message – If status is Error, the UI may show a short message (e.g. "Invalid URL", "Could not fetch"). Use it to fix the problem.

Common issues:

  • Invalid URL – Check that you pasted the full URL (it usually starts with https:// and ends with something like .ics or contains "ical"). Get a fresh export URL from the other platform if needed.
  • Access denied – Some platforms require the URL to be public or to stay logged in. Ensure the export URL is the "public" or "sync" link they give for external calendar apps.
  • No events – If the other platform has no bookings yet, the calendar may be empty. That is normal; dates will block once bookings exist there.

If errors persist, remove the calendar and add it again with a fresh URL, or check the other platform’s help for iCal export. See Managing Calendars for how to disable or delete a calendar.
