Sample Data
What sample data is, how to delete it, and what is editable.
When you create a new HostManageGo account, the platform automatically creates sample data so you can explore features with realistic examples. This article explains what is created, how to recognize it, and how to remove it when you are ready.
What Gets Created
2 Sample Properties
- Apartment – A 2-bedroom apartment with capacity for 4 guests, base price per night, cleaning fee, and realistic address and description.
- House – A 3-bedroom house for 6 guests with similar details.
Both include photos, localized names and descriptions, and are clearly marked as sample data in the interface.
3 Sample Reservations
- Past reservation – A completed stay (e.g. ended about two weeks ago).
- Current reservation – An ongoing stay (e.g. started a few days ago, ends soon).
- Upcoming reservation – A future stay (e.g. starts in a few days).
Reservations use localized guest names and emails, and show correct pricing and statuses (e.g. Confirmed).
Localization
All sample content (property names, descriptions, guest names, emails) is created in your preferred language (Portuguese, English, or Spanish) so you see the product in the language you chose at signup.
How to Recognize Sample Data
- Sample properties and reservations are labeled with "Sample" in the Dashboard and in lists.
- Sample items cannot be edited; you can only view them or delete the entire sample dataset.
- Your own properties and reservations (that you create after signup) are never labeled as sample and are fully editable.
How to Delete Sample Data
- Open the Dashboard (main screen after login).
- Find the "Delete Sample Data" button at the top of the page (or in the onboarding area).
- Click it and confirm when prompted.
- All sample properties and reservations are removed at once.
Important: Only sample data is removed. Any properties or reservations you created yourself are kept.
When to Delete
- Keep sample data while you are learning: use it to try the calendar, reservations list, and other features without affecting real data.
- Delete sample data when you are ready to manage only your real properties and bookings, or if you prefer an empty dashboard from the start.
After deletion, the button disappears and you will only see your own data.
