Template Categories
List of categories (confirmation, check-in, cleaning, invoicing, etc.).
Templates are often grouped by category (e.g. confirmation, check-in, cleaning) so you can pick the right type when creating a message rule. This article lists typical categories and what they are for.
Common Categories
- Booking Confirmation – Sent when a reservation is confirmed. Use it to confirm dates, property, price, and next steps (e.g. check-in time, contact).
- Check-in Details – Instructions before the guest arrives: address, access, parking, house rules. Often sent a few days before check-in.
- Cleaning Request – Notify your cleaning team of a new reservation (dates, property, guest name). Used so they can plan turnover.
- Invoicing – Payment receipt or invoice request. Use it when you send a bill or confirmation of payment.
- Check-out Reminder – Reminder before departure: check-out time, keys, what to leave. Often sent the day before or the morning of check-out.
- Welcome Message – Welcome email on arrival day. Short message to say the guest can check in and where to find details.
- Thank You Message – Post-stay thank you. Optional; use it to ask for a review or to thank the guest.
- Payment Reminder – Reminder for deposit or balance payment. Use it when you need the guest to pay before arrival.
- Reservation Cancellation – Sent when a reservation is cancelled. Confirm the cancellation and any refund policy if relevant.
- Reservation Modification – Sent when dates, price, or other details change. Notify the guest of the change.
- Review Request – Post-stay request for a review. Optional; use it a day or two after check-out.
- House Rules – Property rules and guidelines. You can send this with check-in details or as a separate template.
- Emergency Contact – Emergency information (your phone, local services). Often included in check-in or sent separately.
- New Reservation Notification – Alert sent to you (the host) when a new reservation is created. Use it to stay informed.
Exact category names may vary in your app. Use the category that best fits the purpose of the email when creating a template and when assigning it to a rule.
