AI vs Manual UI
When to use AI vs form (quick vs detailed, uploads).
You can do many tasks either with the AI Assistant or with the manual forms in the Dashboard. This article helps you choose the right tool for each situation.
When to Use the AI Assistant
- Speed – You want to create a property or reservation quickly with one short message (e.g. "Create a reservation for John, May 10 to 15, Porto apartment"). The AI fills in the main fields and blocks the dates.
- Simple tasks – Create or edit a property (name, price, capacity), create or cancel a reservation, block or unblock dates. No photos or complex pricing rules.
- Voice – You prefer to speak the request instead of typing.
- Queries – You want to ask "Is the apartment free next weekend?" or "Who is checking in tomorrow?" and get a quick answer.
Use the AI when the task is clear and does not need fine control (e.g. exact address, photos, deposit settings).
When to Use the Manual UI (Forms)
- Photos – The AI cannot upload photos. Always add and manage photos in the property edit form (drag and drop, reorder, set main photo).
- Full control – You need to set or change many fields: full address, cleaning fee, deposit, guest phone, preferred language, notes. The form shows every field and lets you adjust everything.
- Complex pricing – You want to enter a custom total, set a deposit amount or percentage, or apply special rules. The form gives you direct control.
- Validation – You want to see all validation messages (e.g. "Date already booked", "Capacity exceeded") in one place and fix them in the form.
- Bulk or detailed edits – You are editing several properties or reservations and prefer to click through the list and forms.
Use the form when you need to see and edit every detail or when the task involves photos or payments.
Combining Both
A common workflow:
- Create with the AI – e.g. "Create a 2-bedroom apartment in Porto for 4 people, 80 euros per night."
- Refine in the form – Open the new property, add photos, full address, cleaning fee, and save.
- Create reservations with the AI – e.g. "Create a reservation for John, May 10 to 15, Porto apartment."
- Adjust in the form if needed – Open the reservation and set deposit, notes, or guest language.
