Best Practices
Be specific, use property names, clear dates; what to avoid.
Using the AI Assistant well means being specific and clear so the AI can do the right thing the first time. This article gives practical tips.
Be Specific
- Property name – Use the exact property name (e.g. "Porto apartment", "Lisbon house") so the AI knows which property to use. If you have only one property, you can say "my property" or "the apartment" if the UI supports it.
- Guest – Give guest name and email when creating a reservation. Email is used to link the reservation to a guest profile and to send messages.
- Dates – Use clear dates: "May 10 to May 15" or "check-in June 10, check-out June 15." Avoid vague phrases like "next week" unless the AI is designed to resolve them.
Use Clear Wording
- One task per message – One reservation, one property, one block. For several items, send several messages or use the form.
- Numbers – Specify price ("80 euros per night"), capacity ("4 people"), or nights when relevant so the AI fills fields correctly.
- Action verb – Start with the action: "Create...", "Edit...", "Block...", "Cancel..." so the AI knows what you want.
What to Avoid
- Ambiguous names – If two properties have similar names, use the full or distinct name so the AI does not pick the wrong one.
- Long paragraphs – Short, clear sentences work better than long paragraphs with many tasks mixed together.
- Sensitive data – Do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive data in the chat. Use the normal settings and forms for that.
- Photo uploads – The AI cannot upload photos. Add photos in the property edit form after the AI has created the property.
If Something Goes Wrong
- Check the result – After the AI creates or updates something, open the reservation or property in the normal UI to confirm details (dates, price, guest).
- Correct in the form – If the AI made a small mistake (e.g. wrong date), edit the reservation or property in the form instead of trying to fix it with another AI message.
- Try again with more detail – If the AI asked for more information, reply with the missing detail (property name, email, dates) and send again.
